Trying to connect my BC250

I am trying to connect my BC250D using ARC250BASIC with the programming cable with a USB adapter and also to an older computer with a serial port and for the life of me I cannot get this to communicate with each other. I tried it with Proscan and it worked only once and I am not even sure how I did it. It seems fairly simple, Menu, press 3 and then press 5, press E.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The connector on the side of the BC250D is not a USB connector it is a proprietary connector with a serial connector on the other end of the cable. Try removing the USB adapter and connecting the serial connector directly to the serial port on the computer. See if that fixes your problem.
